BT has appointed Steve Ting as chairman and Lim Chin Hu as CEO of BT’s Southeast Asian (SEA) operations.
Before joining BT Mr. Ting, who is a veteran in the technology industry with some 20 years of experience, was group founder and executive chairman of BT Frontline.
He has held several management positions in Hewlett Packard Singapore and Mentor Graphics Corporation.
Mr. Lim previously served as president and chief executive officer of BT Frontline where he led the overall operations of the BT Frontline Group, and was instrumental in developing and directing the group’s growth and regional strategies.
In March of 2008, BT acquired Frontline Technologies now operating as BT Frontline to help further grow BT’s IT services capabilities as the company drives to become the leading provider of networked IT solutions in the Asia Pacific region.
In speaking of his new role at BT SEA, Mr. Ting said, “For the first few months after the acquisition it has been business as usual as we developed the detailed integration plans. As part of the integration we are now implementing the optimum operating model for the combined operations, built on the respective strengths of the two companies.
Under Steve’s and Chin Hu’s leadership, BT plans to integrate about 700 people from BT Frontline wholly owned operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Dalian, China with a completion target of early 2009. Additionally in India and in China, the new leadership team has initiated a programme in India between BT India and Accel Frontline, and also with MDCL Frontline China and BT China to drive sales collaboration. |
