New Sales & Marketing VP for AMD India

AMD, past week, announced that Ramkumar Subramanian has been appointed as the company’s new sales and marketing vice president for India and SAARC region.

In his new role Ramkumar would collaborate with AMD India’s managing director, Dasaradha Gude, to drive AMD’s aggressive growth plans for the region and strengthening the company’s relationships with customers, partners, government and education audiences.

In his previous role as director of Corporate Development, Ramkumar was a part of several strategic initiatives, such as orchestrating the growth strategy for AMD in China, Brazil and other high-growth markets. Ramkumar is also an inventor of more than one hundred of AMD’s patents and pending applications in semiconductor process technology.

He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Michigan State University, an MBA from Duke University and an undergraduate degree from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirapalli.

Ramkumar will be based in Bangalore and report to Ian Williams, AMD’s corporate vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.

“Ramkumar has consistently demonstrated a proven track record of business skills in emerging markets such as China and Brazil,” said Williams.

“He is uniquely qualified to steer AMD India during this next, very significant phase of expansion.”
