PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom), the Information and Communication (InfoCom) network and service provider in Indonesia and Huawei Technologies have announced that together they have installed a CDMA2000 network for Telkom. This installation is to help the operator save over 60% of its transmission costs in a project.
Currently Huawei deploys over half of Telkom’s national network which covers the areas of Jakarta, West Java, Center Java, and Sumatera. Huawei’s industry-leading CDMA2000 solution, includes the BTS (Base Transceiver Station) 3606C, that has a small footprint so can be deployed in small equipment rooms, and the ODU (Optic Distributed Unit) 3601CE, which is able to solve the complicated line laying issue of indoor coverage. The CDMA2000 technology will be mainly applied for telephone, television, and broadband data services.
Eddy Kurnia, Vice President Public and Marketing Communication Telkom said, with the success of this transformation of CDMA2000, Telkom will be able to serve the customers more both in term of quality and coverage. "We’ve just passed a critical point of transformation successfully, now we are very optimistic to give more to our Flexi customers," Kurnia adds.
On the other hand, Ma Yue, President Director of PT. Huawei Tech. Investment said, Indonesia’s telecommunications market is growing rapidly now, and Huawei will continue to provide the best solutions to support Telkom’s requirements and to help the operator achieve further cost-savings. |
