Sony Ericsson and Research In Motion (RIM) announced Wednesday, the out-of-the-box availability of BlackBerry Connect software v4.0 on the Sony Ericsson P1i in Asia Pacific (AP).
The tool, available in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand will be pre-loaded on the Sony Ericsson P1i and supports push-based wireless email services, including attachment viewing and wireless email synchronization, in conjunction with both BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service.

The P1i is Sony Ericsson's fifth-generation P-series smartphone and is a perfect business companion. It operates on hi-speed UMTS and supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and VoIP.
For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.
For individuals and smaller businesses, BlackBerry Internet Service allows users to access multiple supported email accounts, including most popular ISP email accounts, from a single device.
BlackBerry Connect will be pre-loaded on new P1i smartphones and existing Sony Ericsson P1i users can download the BlackBerry Connect v4.0 software from the Sony Ericsson website. |
