Network infrastructure provider, PANDUIT unveiled its latest NET-ACCESS Server Cabinet System in Singapore last week, designed for customers to manage, protect and showcase their network cabling and equipment.
The New NET-ACCESS Server Cabinet System addresses previous limitations faced by older cabinets in terms of management and availability, and increase in power consumption and complex cabling and cooling requirements that have emerged by the introduction of new technologies such as blade servers.
“New technologies that address the ‘power and cooling’ requirements of data centers are increasingly getting sophisticated. However, it remains a critical issue for many companies currently operating their own data centers,” says Steve Wallage, Managing Director, BroadGroup Consultancy.
The NET-ACCESS Server Cabinet System features an innovative cable management design that organizes power and data cables through vertically mounted patch panels and power outlet units, thereby reducing patch cord slack behind the servers, allowing server fans to exhaust air from the cabinet more efficiently. Its air blocking panels ensure that cold air is directed to the servers for improved thermal performance.
The modular, flexible cabinet design also provides scalable thermal management for low to high heat density applications. For added thermal management, it comes with an optional cooling door that leverages IBM Cooling Technology to eliminate hot spots – of up to 20kW – and enable increased server density. As a result, data centers realize reduced real estate and operational costs with fewer required CRAC cooling units. |
