Microsoft Loves Halo3 Craze |

For Microsoft, battling gaming companies—Sony and Nintendo— has been a difficult job. While the gaming industry is a three-company race, the Seattle based giant is in the last of the race.
Though it made losses, it persisted and now if the craze around its latest game Halo3 is any indication, it should be having the last laugh.
It is all geared to launch Halo 3; the much acclaimed science-fiction videogame that it hopes will increase its lead over Sony in the annual USD 30 billion gaming industry.
Halo3 is considered the gaming equivalent of a new "Harry Potter" book or "Star Wars" film.
Microsoft took the lead in video-game players after it introduced the Xbox 360 in November 2005, five years after entering the business. Now the world's largest software maker is banking on another new product to stay No. 1.
``It's going to be close,'' Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Chris Liddell said in an interview. |
