Facebook Launches Storage Service |

One of the world’s most popular social networking sites, Facebook has launched an open Data Store API beta programme to offer data storage service to developers.
Although the service has been on since Sunday, the Facebook developer wiki warns users to keep a backup as the service is still in beta stage.
Though only storage is available right now, nothing is known about the pricing or the capacity.
Facebook’s intention in providing people with storage has more to do with taking away business from Amazon's S3 service and Google's massive user base and popularity. |
