Cisco has announced that it will acquire Cognio, a spectrum analysis and management firm for wireless networks. It specialises in isolating interference problems in wireless networks, thus simplifying network management.
Cisco said the acquisition would help Cisco with both different and complementary technology along with intellectual property and Cognio's core team. Cisco did not reveal the cost of acquisition.
"Wireless spectrum is a strategic asset for our customers, and its management is key to the robust delivery of mobility applications," Brett Galloway, vice president and general management for Cisco's Wireless Networking Business unit, said in a statement. |
