American speaker and electronics company Bose has introduced speakers for desktop computers. These speakers, smaller than earlier speakers, are priced at USD 399 and are aimed at people who use their computers for music.
Founded by Amar Gopal Bose, who was born to a Bengali father and an American mother, Bose said the speaker, although the size of a digital camera, can deliver symphony hall comparable sound. The technology: Delivering deep bass tones from small enclosures.
The speaker is based on what Bose calls "dual internal opposing passive radiators." Most speakers have a single radiator but the Bose speakers have two radiators in opposite direction creating vibrations, giving out good quality sounds. The speakers also have large loudspeaker in the front of the speaker.
The speakers go on sale on October 4.
"I think the demand for smaller and better sound will never stop," said Santiago Carvajal, a Bose business manager. "And this is our best effort to deliver lifelike sound from something smaller than we've ever done before." |
