Frédéric G. Marand shows you with a VAT Information Exchange System (VIES) Client on how to include Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) services within PHP-GTK2 applications. He says, The VIES client allows querying of the European Union (EU) Value Added Tax (VAT) database system to check the validity of VAT numbers.
Frédéric thinks it is an essential function to businesses within the EU. He says, it can avoid using the standard browser-based service, by relying on SOAP RPC, which allows access from within any application.
He says, you can use this application as a standalone, but is mainly intended as an example of how to include SOAP services within PHP-GTK2 applications.
