Stuart Herbert in php.net muses over a possibility to get a news items on www.php.net on the initiative to create a vendor-neutral resource to help ISVs sell PHP-based products.
He informs you about a Google group so that everyone who could benefit from such a resource has the opportunity to get involved and make this happen. At this stage, he says, the requirement is to hear from people who sell products written in PHP. What questions about the fact they're using PHP do they get asked when trying to make the sale? What answers have they found to work best?
He gives more inputs about the Google group. He says it is not a general PHP advocacy group. He explains that the group is strictly focused on producing resources to help ISVs overcome the situation for ISVs like ‘but your product is written in PHP. ‘Why PHP?’ that crops up from time to time when making a sale.
