Red Hat, a provider of open source solutions, is all set to launch JBoss solutions in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore at the 'Power of Open Source Middleware Technologies' seminar on the week of December 5, 2006. At the event, Red Hat will introduce Red Hat Application Stack, the newly tested and fully integrated open source stack and JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite (JEMS) to enterprise companies and partners, as per a statement issued by the company.
JEMS is comprised of open source middleware technologies such as JBoss Application Server, Apache Tomcat, and Hibernate. JEMS is available on multiple platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris and Windows, the company claimed.
According to the company, Red Hat Application Stack is the open source alternative to integrated proprietary application platforms, for running standards-based LAMP or Java-based applications. The stack includes support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Application Server, JBoss Hibernate and the open source databases, including MySQL Pro Certified Server & PostgreSQL.
The growth opportunity for JBoss solutions is strong as enterprises continue to seek open source middleware alternatives to replace costly proprietary solutions. Red Hat offers solutions in a subscription model with no client access licenses, the company added.
"We recognise the importance of enlarging the ecosystem to include more integrated, standard based products and certified open source solutions. This will provide customers and partners to choose JEMS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux as their platform of choice", said Shane Owenby, Regional Manager for ASEAN at Red Hat.
