Sun's Portal to Track Open Source Java Progress

 

 

Sun has launched a new web site to talk about how Java is to be set free. The new site is aimed at facilitating discussions by offering forums, news, blogs and documentation about Sun's plans.

"I don't think that I or any of the people in Sun's Java organisation know how to take Java and make it into a successful open source community," Simon Phipps said. "We've got ideas. We're fairly confident that it's possible, but we really need the advice and insight of the existing communities to help us get to that place."
