Oracle is the fastest growing among the top five vendors for Total Supply Chain Management (SCM) software revenue in Asia Pacific (AP), according to analyst firm Gartner.
Based on the results published in “Dataquest Insight: SCM Software Market Review, 2006” Oracle Supply Chain Management revenue grew 80 percent year-over-year between 2005 and 2006 – reportedly more than four times faster than its competitors.
The report also revealed that the AP SCM market grew by 11.6 percent in 2006, reaching USD 301.1 million in license and maintenance revenue.
“Organizations of all sizes across Asia Pacific are looking to implement Supply Chain Management solutions to drive competitiveness and profitable growth given today’s volatile business environment,” said Jasbir Singh, senior director, Supply Chain Management Applications, Oracle Asia Pacific.
“Their focus has shifted significantly beyond implementing ERP for administrative improvements to strategic SCM solutions that power information-driven value chains. Strategic SCM applications offer companies new capabilities to gain visibility into and effectively harness the enormous amount of data across their entire supply chain network. This is fundamental to their ability to make better decisions by identifying potential risks and opportunities in real-time, drive more predictable results, adapt quickly to change, and align planning and execution networks to their business goals.”
With Oracle Supply Chain Management, companies can integrate and automate critical processes from supply chain planning to execution, manufacturing and collaboration with external parties via the supplier relationship management components.
The new solution will also enable organizations to manage their asset lifecycle, product lifecycle and centralize product information management. Organizations will be able to achieve a real-time view of the entire supply chain for more informed business decisions with Oracle’s unified data model. Together, these solutions enable companies to optimize supply and distribution networks, mitigate risk, maximize shop floor throughput and dramatically reduce supply chain costs. |
