Despite selling more consoles than Microsoft’s XBox 360, and being in the leading position when it comes to gaming consoles, Sony is still not content. It has now come to notice that Sony edited Wikipedia pages relating to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 game-Halo3.
WikiScanner, a newly developed tool that tracks the IP address of anyone who edits Wikipedia contents revealed that a page edit was made by an IP address that traces back to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Liverpool studios.
The Wiki entry was about Halo 3, the forthcoming highly awaited game by XBox 360 users.
The original entry stated, "Halo 3, the third game in the best-selling Xbox game franchise Halo, is a highly anticipated first-person shooter video game under development by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 and is expected to 'set a new high water mark' for next-generation games."
It is alleged that Sony engineers added a sentence which read, "Although it won't look any better than Halo 2."
It is also said that people at Sony were pretty fast and edited the entry on Wikipedia 40 minutes after the original entry went live. However now, the edit has been removed and Wikipedia has locked the page. |
