Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has emerged the biggest certifying authority (CA) in the country by issuing two lakh digital signature certificates.
V. Rajanna, general Manager of the Hyderabad branch of TCS, said the company’s CA had posted an growth owing to the initiatives of the Union Government like ‘MCA (Ministry of Company Affairs) 21’ programme. The number of certificates issued to MCA-21 users alone crossed 1.50 lakh.
TCS Executive Vice-President M. Vidyasagar, said TCS CA made public key infrastructure (PKI) user-friendly and easy to deploy on several platforms.
The TCS’s Hyderabad Tech centre had conceptualised and led the research and development initiative to develop PKI infrastructure products.
He said there were five lakh signatures made by different players in the field of which TCS’ share was two lakh. Vidysagar said e-passports would drastically minimise fraudulent practices. The company had proposed to International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for standardisation of travel documents and make them machine-readable, he said. |
